White Rabbit

Same things happen

Little shifts come from a choice

Why not get lost for awhile

Takes you to different levels of who you are

An edge tested with a bit more courage

Applied to everything

Reaching out to serve a need

Or cutting a grapefruit differently

Turning down a road you know doesn’t go home

Choosing to ignore your intuition

Wearing a shirt that doesn’t match

Saying hello to the neighbor cat who sleeps on the car

Deciding not to qualify the reasons

It’s also changeable

We can become white collar

Or never use our degrees to paint houses

Even in the bad choices they can lead to good

Although time will be spent

Could be a waste

Unless we find a way to position it differently

In thought and moving upward toward the end

We don’t have to be the same forever

Feels like a prison

Maybe the lettuce would be better in the oven

And taking a beat before responding

I see the benefits of playing in these spaces

Hard to explain to others who see you suffer in them

Another way to bond

In and out of limitations

There’s a duty to be an example

Saying nothing

To just be and do and learn

Quite minutes to reflect

Another day in a finite bag of days

Wake and shuffle

Light a ritual when it hurts to move
