Panthers

I have seen it before

Myself standing in a place

Of reaction

Ignoring the yoga

Opportunity

Then

I remember this moment too

Is a place to practice

Frustrating past that never seems to leave

I miss the children

And I yell sometimes because of it

Feeling lost in the choice

Terrified I will be less

For them

For myself

For everyone

But you can’t take it with you

And time erases quite a lot of these regrets

Standing in a doorway looking for a reason

To be upset

I see myself saying to myself

Remember

Stay center

Stay here and fight in the peace

Let it boil just before it overflows

Hold it while you shake in exhaustion

Trying to change what you can’t control

Remember the home inside you built

Where the fire burns

And the books play with dust

While the handmade tales wait for your return

Where its just you and the water

Trees singing with bugs

As times never stops being the great god of life

When you choose to live there

In the space they want you in

Bursting outside the frame

They catch panthers because they’re too big

What chance is there

In a world like this

Wearing hats in the old room

Laughing as the security evaporates

It comes back to the sun

A field

Your dog

The ones you love

Simple cups with coffee

Quiet milliseconds

Shelves your Grandpa made

Instruments played

Still echoing in the dark

And in the morning

You’re something there too

While it keeps going

So do you

In your way

Just enough to step through

What you cannot see

Your Thoughts
