Optimist After Truth

Simple in a scene

Felt odd in the bad way

Can you really debate if people are inherently good?

Recalling laws

All the rules put on the flow of us

Why

Because we are inherently good?

We’d eat each other if starving

We’d take water from our neighbor if the water stopped running

We’d murder to salvage the resources

If we feel someone is stupid we treat them like shit

To save our own insecurities

Are we good?

Remember the savage eye

The savage in the heart

Before the laws

Before we became civilized

Before we decided rape was wrong

When hanging blacks was accepted

When we dropped the bomb from fear

When we put women in the corners

Inherently good?

And what of this goodness?

We evolved morality to drive safely down the street

To order a coffee without being taken

Yet we still take now

Abduct the young

Enslave children around the world

Cheap trinkets

Inherently good for the sake of saying it

We are not bad either

Is an animal bad when it hunts for food?

Or protects its own in the dark dens?

We invade spaces

Even in our liberalism we are cruel

Even in our liberal ideas we control language

Being offended is just not civilized

Who are we lying for

Whose morality?

Can we really change an animals instincts?

Adultery

Abandonment

We sit on couches to solve our issues

Knowing the truth deep in the bones

In this we still find meaning

I despise cruelty

But I know its a fools errand to expect otherwise in this world

Running to the same place with a quicker ability to order shit

I’m an optimist after truth

And we are all bored

Bored of the vanilla emotions

The answer currently is an increase in self help

Everyone is spiritual

Everyone is an empath

Everyone is everyone

Everyone is a breath work teacher and does yoga

They offer yoga now with alcohol

Then gossip at the office about Jane in accounting

Ads during guided meditations

Evolution

If we weren’t all narcissist you’d delete your instagram account

And ban the selfie like we painted lines on the roads

And reject being pushed in this box of limitations

Don’t kill or rape

But say the truth

And let others say their truth

Its not negative if it so

Even if it fights with your ideal version of existing

In this savage planet

That we trade in for our own convenience

That we debate still if we have an impact with our actions

Even while the tornado comes just after another hurricane

And the floods increase after the fire burned for a year

What is morality when there is a moon

Every day is a special event now

To increase the credit lines

I’m an optimist after truth

And thank the sprit for imagination

I live there most of the time

As an acceptance of my savagery

And that is why I choose

Being kind and enter rooms disarmed

Why I hold the doors and say hello

Why I listen while a strangers eyes communicate

Why I keep trying

Why I say I love you

Why I create things from emotion

Why I hug and kiss my sons

I am a savage when I remember

When I realize there has been a programming

Like a pill you take everyday

Consciousness after the great sleep

Sleep no more

But where can we go from here if not to the beginning?

Or the end to a finite species

  1. The purity of birth, then fear is ignited and spreads as an undetected motivation.
There is definitely and end in site for this species

    1. Fear is certainly a great motivator, how we use it is complicated in all the beautiful ways, even in the demise of the experience. Thank you for the comment and time.
