Waiting To Change

Did you learn from them when you felt locked up from them

When was the last time you left it open for them

Under some kind of absolute black and white

Raining in a paint can

Splashing away on old paint

Little bit left to play with

Little bit left to change it with

Did you ever ask them to wait long enough to watch your face age

When was the last time you asked or said

Wait

Running in a shell you entered through a pin hole

Stay close in the rain

When did you ask for one more chance to deliver

Was it the last time when all hell came down

No longer a quiet river

No longer in solitude

Loud outside with vibrations holding a stick

You hit them with it when they buck

Through their drawings above the fire

In shambles now the picture putting itself back together

Did you learn from them when you felt locked up from them

Long shadow in the deepening truth

One added to a static solution

This was before when you asked for more time to deliver

To deliver yourself a good word to keep for the work

Under some kind of black and white

I saw an eye and an eye saw me

Waiting without words

Asking for something to say

When was the last time you asked or said

Wait

Or was it while you watched them change

Before your eyes

Connected to a fate

After you asked for more time to change

Wait became a path of too late

When was the last time you asked or said

Everything
