The Great Sea

What are you really

Sitting there looking out a window

Thinking about what you are

When does it reveal to you

A right way inside so much wrong with the world

Then there’s your mindset

One that can change in a moment

The meaning of things you are a part of

Simple or complicated

Wonderful or ugly

What are you really

Another number in a line of others

Maybe a rarity amongst the living

Something unique

Nothing special

Just Is

In its own way

You’ll be here

For awhile at least

Until the wind comes in

And the great sway takes it away

Like a bird landing on the great ships

For a time

Out there in the great seas

What are you really

Ask yourself as you decide

What is next until next is no more

Out here

Everywhere

What are you

And that will be your great sea

For a little bit longer

This time

  1. This poem asks the reader an important question about our relationship with life and the world we live in. Nice, clear, relevant piece of work.
