Eye To Eye

They don’t know you

Here

Standing in place

Look busy

Without drawing attention

The mind swirling

What to say

When to say it

How to say it

Just being as you are

Is enough

How it might fit

Or not

Little do they know

As you know little

About much of this room

Standing still

Then the fidget

Where do my hands rest

My mind spinning

Looking out the window

Pretending to be captivated

While you wonder

If she’s looking over

Turning back

Eyes lock in

And there it is

Now what

A life lived in 30 seconds

Based on interest

Attraction

Curiosity

Rhythms and riddles

Scenarios in the visions

Water running

Through the cracks of this floor

You follow it towards her

Stepping over the lines

Without a word to begin

Freezing time

  1. Beautiful. An excellent description of what may happen during a few moments, mere seconds of one’s day.
