Lifetime

God knows

Some say

Often enough

When its difficult

To wonder about

A God

Let alone

If God knows

While you contemplate

Existence

Loud messages entering

In the room

This way

No

That way

You should of

When you had the chance

As if I missed the great big boat

Forever

In the body of water

Getting deeper

By the hour

And so on

In their eyes you see the time

In my teeth I see mine

God knows

Whistling into the depth of a night

No visions

Permitted

Past the point of caring

All tucked neatly in

Values from a different time

The generations

How it changed

How we manage

How God knows

With every inch of my belief in the other

Places I see behind my own eyes

Letting loose this goodbye

On eternity

You’re running out of time

A father tells his son

In their eyes

You are without

While you feel full of life

Two things

Not aligned

The life I don’t have

The life that I created

The life they assumed

Before I could

Assume

Such a life
