Listen to the brand new song!
Nomadic Firs is the music project of Ryan Boos, a multidisciplinary artist exploring the intersection of sound, emotion, and the human experience. The name itself is a metaphor — Nomadic representing the mind, and Firs the body — reflecting the project’s core philosophy of movement, growth, and reflection.
Rooted in improvisation, production, and lived experience, Nomadic Firs blends organic textures with electronic soundscapes to create music that feels both intimate and expansive. Much of the visual artwork originates from Boos’ own paintings and mixed-media designs, forming a cohesive visual and sonic world.
Following the breakout self-titled cassette release on Crash Symbols in 2012, the Wild remix album featured reinterpretations by ODESZA, Mountain Range, and others. In 2013, Mystic Color Faze expanded the project’s sound with a 36-track digital collection of B-sides, later reissued in 2016 as the 11-track Redux edition.
In 2019, Others was released — a collection of the project’s favorite remixes — followed by Memory Weeks (2020), a conceptual album recorded during the early months of the COVID-19 lockdown. The latest major release, Love is Violent(2024), was mastered in analog by Chicago producer and DJ Logan Huiskamp, marking a new chapter of depth and intention for the Nomadic Firs sound.
Most recently, the single In It (2025) arrived as a confident evolution of Boos’ vision. Described by critics as “a radiant electronic anthem celebrating clarity, connection, and personal transformation,” the track blends lush synths, driving rhythm, and reflective lyricism — signaling a renewed creative energy for Nomadic Firs.
At its core, Nomadic Firs continues to explore the landscapes of sound and self — an ongoing journey through memory, emotion, and the restless search for meaning that defines the human experience.
