June Bug

He is just a simple boy

Not little but short for now as little boys are

Huge smile that never leaves his excited face

He makes friends with the butterflies

Asks to run in the rain

Loves to splash up a good cannon ball

Or jump as high as he can

To land in the puddles

Shallow ones large ones off shaped ones

He kisses my cheek and tells me

I love you Dad

My bright young son

A wild soul out here every second

Open arms with early wings

Ready to move in the simple silent magic

We call everyday

As if to be immune to the wonders

I could call him my reminder

Seldom does he sit in despair

Unless you’ve told him he did wrong

Which is more about me than him

They teach us so much as we watch over them

I will keep learning

As he will keep teaching me

To always remember to look around

And enjoy it

Every once in a while
