I’m in a slightly “other” mood this morning. I could benefit from a run, or just another way to go. Then I find Bearcubs out of Britain, and I’m hooked immediately. First thing I noticed about their sound was the bass lines. They are so smooth and perfect in the headphone. On the track “Cascade” there’s not much else to ask for in the Electronic Music genre. They make it sound easy, and effortless. I’ve been listening to this kind of music for a long time now, and Bearcubs are as veteran as they come. When the song drops into its main theme around the 1:20 ish mark, its on. The bass line is amazing, perfect 80’s synth pop bass line. You’re transformed into this outfit and your shoes are not the same. You feel cool, like you could walk for miles, stopping every person in your path, so they could get a glance of you walking down the road. I’ll be honest, if you ever see me walking with my headphones on, I’m literally thinking I’m the coolest flipping dude on the planet at that point. That’s what songs like “Cascade” can do for your level of confidence. This is the purest of cool, the liquid cool in your droplet device.
It appears they’re part of a bigger message, one called Cadence Collective. On their Tumblr it reads “Cadence collective is a group of artists & friends who strive to create and spread positive energy, community over competition.” This sounds exactly like what we’re trying to do here on Acres. Cheers to the Cadence collective! I believe in your message, and we support you on here. They have a sampler EP coming out March 30th, so be sure and nab that when it comes out. Sounds like it will be a FREE ONE. Maybe we can score an interview about the collective? We’ll see, in the meantime, enjoy Bearcubs.
