The vox is right out of some private cool club party, where the shine is being passed around, hidden from the threat of prohibition. It’s an interesting mash-up, with the sounds being so 21st century. I love it in fact. Derek’s got mad skillz on his craft. He told me he’s working with JRCA on an album for the fall.
“Red” has glorious hushed vocals with the gripping harmony of multiple singing tracks, layered all through the spectrum. The tune traverses some quality reflections for me. The question I have is, what can’t these Robots do?
“Teary Eyes And Bloody Lips” is a classic Spencer Krug penned track, providing us with yet another twisted insight to the mind of the extremely talented Canadian. It is not far from the Sunset Rubdown style that we have come to know and love, but it takes quite the turn from the previous Moonface releases
Twin Cabin’s Nacho Cano hails from Mexico City and now lives in San Diego making music in his bedroom. Cano makes you feel warm from his melodies, and gives the illusion that you might be on vacation. So sit back and enjoy the feeling of gleaming youth and the prospect of nowhere to be.
These are the real pictures, beaming through some imaginary desert radio you yearn to see, but can’t, even though you drop synthetics to try. If you see them, you’ll find Stuart Thomas’s Mountain Range. On his first EP, A Heart Upon, there’s nothing but beauty, and these amazingly liquid silhouettes running rapid through the arms of mother nature. The way in which the sounds are arranged deliver a great sense of ease. Thomas feels what he’s doing, and he’s taking us to some unforgettable places in the process.
Tim Brown of San Antonio, Texas is an incredible talent, as the man behind the Aural Burrows moniker, he has already released one of the strongest debut EP’s of the last few years. With the Gravitron EP dropping in early November of 2011, it was the most downloaded release on the Housewarming Records imprint.
