The Through And Through Gospel Review

Throw back Jones might be a better moniker for Joel Marquard’s Gospel project. The concept alone, which Joel says is a tribute to the Gospel music in 40s-70s is fully realized on tracks like “Heat of the Night.”Joel’s inspiration for making these tunes comes from the heart. His father released a Gospel album as well, when he was about the same age. A cool story indeed, which fits perfectly with the purity and tone of these songs.  Through and Through is a side project of Marquards, whose also is in the Indie Pop band Gospel Claws. One big giant high-five to this cat, and all his dedication to bringing back one hell of a hip sound. Nab the entire record on Bandcamp, you call it. The Self Titled debut from The Through and Through Gospel Review was released October 25th 2011, but I just found it, so its brand new to me folks.
