Love is Violent by Nomadic Firs

Love Is Violent

Love is Violent is out today, everywhere/anywhere music can be played. The album cover is a new painting I recently did in my kitchen.

This is the 5th album under Nomadic Firs. Seven years or more is a long chunk of life to put in less than 50 minutes of sound. I promise there was nothing left to do with this energy. It stayed with me through some of the most amazing and the most awful experiences of my life.

I recorded this body of work on the farm in Bangor, in the houses with no heat in Kalamazoo, at home in Knoxville, in the pits of love in Asheville, in the magic of Black Mountain, in the fog of Chicago, and in the open fields of rehab. I recorded this album full of love. I recorded this album fearlessly. I recorded this album knowing it would end. I recorded this album knowing I would say goodbye to everyone that came through my life while it was being recorded. I recorded this album playing characters. I recorded this album with intention. And today, I let it all go.

Thank you for the experience.

There are no regrets.

I have to say thank you to my dear friend Producer/DJ, Logan Huiskamp (Chicago) for mastering Love is Violent through his treasure chest of Analog channels. It was a pleasure to have someone I trust there with me through the process. Expressing his impression of the work. It was a lot of fun, and I am grateful for his help and time he devoted to this project. Thank you LH, love you homie!

I love you Cove and Valley, you are the lights toward my North Star.
